A Shift in Focus

When I started this blog, I was primarily into custom keyboards with some gaming and other content on the side. But as time went on, I found myself drifting out of the keyboard hobby for a multitude of reasons: delayed group buys, exit-scamming vendors, lack of real innovation; however, the biggest one was that I found myself pulling back into a different hobby, one that I could share with my wife.

And that hobby is Lego.

I've always loved building Lego sets - I was lucky enough to get quite a few sets growing up, and they have always held a spot in my heart. So as I started exiting the keyboard hobby, it made sense to find something to replace it, and it happens that my wife shares the enjoyment with me (though, to be fair, she prefers collecting them and letting me build them).

So the focus of this blog, and my overall content, is changing.

The main focus will now be building and reviewing different Lego, and MEGA BLOKS, sets and putting up video and written reviews together. These will always be short, to the point, and use a simple rating scale.

  1. Build to Price
    1. Is the price paid worth what you get?
    2. 0-5 scale, with 5 being a resounding yes
  2. Build Experience
    1. Was the build fun? Challenging? Enjoyable?
      1. 0-5 scale, with 5 being an amazing experience
  3. Wow Factor
    1. Does the finishes product wow me? This metric is the most opinionated of the three categories as certain set categories, such as Jurassic Park or Star Wars, likely to scale higher just because they are things I enjoy more than others
      1. 0-5 scale

In the end, this means that each set will have a final score out of 15, which will be the header of the review and then a text breakdown with photos and a link to the video review, if one was done.

I'm looking forward to kicking of written and video reviews in the new year, with the plan being a video or written review each week, both old and new sets.
